Franchising is one of models used to distribute products or services. In a franchise system one side (the franchisor) grants a license to use his trademark/trade name and business system package to another side (the franchisee) that usually pays various fees for this license and is entitled to additional support.
 
Two main existing types of franchises are: business format franchises and product distribution franchises.
